FBI Luna Moth Advisory

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) contacted the Legal Services Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (LS-ISAO) with urgent information on the threat actor Luna Moth, also called Silent Ransom Group or UNC3753. This actor is targeting law firms using social engineering calls and phishing emails to gain remote access to devices. Read the notification here.

Of note to GRF’s multi-sector network, Luna Moth targets non-legal sectors as well, to include companies in the medical and insurance industries. However, most of Luna Moth’s victims are law firms or companies with firm-like naming conventions.
