Nine New Members Join Nonprofit Cyber Coalition
The first coalition of cybersecurity nonprofits focused on tangible results expands its membership
New York – April 25, 2022: Nonprofit Cyber, the first-of-its-kind coalition of global nonprofit cybersecurity organizations, today announced the induction of nine new members and the creation of a new class of membership.
Eight of the new member organizations have joined as active members. They include the Canadian Cyber Threat Exchange, the Cyber Risk Institute, the Forge Institute, the Global Resilience Federation, the Institute for Security and Technology, the Open Cybersecurity Alliance, OpenSecurityTraining2, and SecureTheVillage.
The creation of the “affiliate” class of membership was done to enable a wider range of organizations to support the work of implementation-focused cybersecurity nonprofits. Government entities, foundations and other funding organizations, commercial entities, associations, and other nonprofits all may qualify as affiliate members. Nomad Futurist is Nonprofit Cyber’s first affiliate member.
With these new additions Nonprofit Cyber is now 31 members strong.
“CISA looks forward to its continued collaboration with Nonprofit Cyber and to the impact we will achieve through this partnership,” said Kiersten Todt, Chief of Staff of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. “The growth of Nonprofit Cyber is a demonstration of the immediate value of the Coalition and the need for a unifying model for diverse entities focused on raising the bar in cybersecurity.”
“The Canadian Centre for Cyber Security is pleased to see the Nonprofit Cyber Coalition continue to grow, and has included nine new members,” said Sami Khoury, Head, Canadian Centre for Cyber Security. “It truly shows that raising the bar of cyber security is a team effort and takes global collaboration.”
